Meridia Precautions and/or Warnings
(Information concerning the safe use of Meridia.)

Prior to ordering Meridia online please review the following Meridia information:

Although numerous clinical studies involving Meridia  have proven the same positive results.  Meridia is a very safe and effective prescription weight loss drug.

However, like all prescription drugs, Meridia is not appropriate for everyone. Individuals with certain medical conditions should be very cautious with regards to taking Meridia.

First and foremost individuals with a history of cardiovascular disease including hypertension (high blood pressure), as well as, those individuals with a history of depression that are taking SSRI antidepressants i.e. sertraline (Zoloft), fluoxetine (Prozac),  fluvoxamine (Luvox), Paroxetine (Paxil), and citalopram (Celexa) should use extreme caution prior to taking Meridia.

Meridia & Cardiovascular Disease

Individuals with history of cardiovascular disease including hypertension, myocardial infarction (heart attack), etc should schedule an appointment with their local doctor to obtain a proper Meridia prescription.

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Individuals with a history of hypertension should consider a face to face consultation with their local doctor in order to obtain a prescription for Meridia.

The weight loss drug has been shown in clinical studies to increase your heart rate while producing a slight elevation in blood pressure.t>

For these reasons individuals with preexisting cardiovascular conditions including hypertension should schedule a traditional office appointment so their doctor can monitor both their blood pressure and other cardiac symptoms.

Losing Weight Will Lower Your Blood Pressure
(Decrease the stress on your cardiovascular system.)

Recent clinical studies reported in the respected New England Journal of Medicine report that losing weight will result in a lowering of your blood pressure. Even more promising is the clinical data that a 10% loss of body weight in obese individuals will result in 90% less stress on the cardiovascular system.

Therefore, obese individuals with hypertension should not dismiss the use of Meridia they should just be aware of the need to monitor their blood pressure while taking the medication

This does not mean that Meridia is not appropriate for your condition, our doctors strongly believe that it would be in your best health interest to obtain a Viagra prescription via a traditional office visit.

The Use of Meridia With Antidepressants

Again, individuals with a history of depression that are taking SSRI antidepressants i.e. sertraline (Zoloft), fluoxetine (Prozac),  fluvoxamine (Luvox), Paroxetine (Paxil), and citalopram (Celexa) should refrain from taking Meridia.

The active ingredient in Meridia, Sibutramine Hydrochloride Monohydrate is known to increase serotonin levels in the brain which help to promote a feeling of satiety or fullness.  However, if the neurotransmitter Serotonin levels rise to high there is the risk of developing  a life threatening "Serotonin Syndrome."

Symptoms of serotonin syndrome range from shivering and diarrhea to severe symptoms such as muscle rigidity, fever, seizures, confusion, rapid heart beat, etc.

Individuals taking SSRI's should discontinue the medication for at least three weeks prior to taking Meridia. Remember, you shjould not stop taking any medication without consulting your doctor first (especially antipressants which often require an individual to be "weaned off" the antidepressant).
